Growing up, my mother always made sure to feed us with a variety of healthy foods. she was trying to include delicious yet nourishing foods in our diet. (which I am always thankful for). She was a working mama but found a time to cook real food for the family from scratch with the organic ingredients. As a new mom myself right when Eva was almost six months old and wanted to start her first bite of food, I started thinking about how I can incorporate healthy nutrients in her food lifestyle. Am I feeding her enough? Is she getting all the nutrients she needs?
Which foods are the best and which should I avoid. Introducing Solid Foods to a baby is an exciting milestone. There are no hard rules for baby first foods. The most important thing is to offer a variety of fruits, vegetables, and meats in any order to get your baby used to different tastes. I have to admit I was a little bit overwhelmed and confused about how to start. I started researching for months, looking for the best organic baby food and how to starts solid foods for her and, I found a book named The big book of Organic Baby Food by "Stephanie Middleberg". I finally decided to purchase this book, and I am so glad that I did.
Homemade organic food is the only way to ensure that your baby is eating the healthiest and cleanest food possible. This book gives tips on how to prepare, steam, and freeze baby food and the author explains everything about what your baby should eat in each stage.
The author shares nutritional advice, parental advice, and more than 230 easy recipes for babies, toddlers, and families.
When I cook homemade food for baby girl, I know what exact ingredients are in the food. It doesn't have any additives, sugars, as store-bought foods.
The only secret that we need to know is that to cook ( steam) the food thoroughly and toss the ingredients in the blender. We can start with a very smooth texture and thin consistency pure and then thicker and texture pure as the baby grows. When I started solid foods for Eva, I didn't want to freeze food for her, and I wanted to cook daily and provide fresh pure for her, but at the time, I was so sleep-deprived and exhausted so I couldn't even think about how to manage my time to provide fresh food for her every single day. I was Exclusively breastfeeding, she was cluster feeding most of the time, I didn't have any help around, My husband was working full time, and I was alone all by myself with so many tasks to tackle. I promised myself to cook fresh organic homemade food at least until the day that she can start eating the family meal.
Based on The big book of Organic Baby I started solid foods with a 6-weeks food schedule as my guide. The week first, I started with avocado puree. I gave her each new vegetables for two days. In this way, I could look for any sign of Food Allergies.

6 Months
Single Ingredients Pure
Carrot Pure:
Foods at this stage needs to be thin, so you can mix the purees with breast milk, formula, or water for desired consistency.
In a medium saucepan with a steamer insert, bring about 1 inch of water to a simmer. Add the carrots. Cover and steam until tender, about 10 minutes. Transfer the carrots to a blender and puree until smooth.

Stage 2 : Smooth Combination Purees
6 TO 8 MONTHS
It's time to have fun with combinations. If your baby has tried two different purees separately a few times and not reacted to either, you can mix them up. As you approach the 8 months mark, experiment with slightly less smooth purees.
Pea and Carrot Puree :
There is a reason this veggie combo is an American classic. It is high in protein and fiber for healthy muscle growth and digestion, and it contains vitamin A, B and C.
Combine the Purees in a small bowl. Mix them well with a spoon. If needed, thin the puree with breast milk, formula, or water to achieve the desired consistency.
